I'm pretty sure that this sounds a whole more true than it is. I want to disagree with it.... so i do... The more you let others in, the less your thoughts are exclusively your own, and the more room you have for original expression. I think of Chesterton here, who gave so many of this thoughts away, and therefore had no need to hold onto them, that he was free to think (and share) more and more every day. go and do likewise.
after all that i think you were talking about LISTENING to others, and not SHARING with them. Maybe you are so smart, your head shouldn't be ruined by other peoples ideas coming in and taking up all the space and spoiling your jewels. The more thoughts you let in, the more thoughts you have. If you know you've reached capacity and can't let in anymore without kicking out others, than you are in serious trouble..likewise you are in trouble if you think you can see the lines that separate your original creative thoughts, and those that are gifts from outside you. maybe. good thought anyway.. though i think it is most true as a Feeling.
I had to kinda think to remember why I wrote this... I think it was a tongue-in-cheek way of saying, the more time i spend on others, the less I have to selfishly spend on me:P But, you're probably right also... I just didn't take the thought that far at all! haha Thanks, though. It really made me think and applies more to my life right now than you realize... or maybe you do realize, which is why you wrote it. That makes sense... :P hahaha
